a letter to the future.

Dear Cloud,

Ah… I really…don’t know where or how to start. I’m not even sure if you’d receive this letter, consider I don’t even know where to send it. But..I’m writing it anyway.

It had been a while since I saw you. Well..since you’re in the future 8 years from now. I still remembered how surprised I was when I woke up to be greeted by a little boy with familiar hairstyle, but in the darker color. His blue eyes resembled yours. Such pretty blue eyes… And I could still feel my face growing red just thinking of you. You sure get even more charming as the time passed though, how is that even possible?

A-Anyway… I just…feel like writing something to you. That day when I asked if you are happy, you told me that you are, and I’m glad to know that. I’m glad…to know that would be the future I’m moving towards…

Actually, I think I’m writing this because I feel a bit insecure. I just had a fight with the present!you, about silly things, actually. I didn’t even know how it became such a big argument, but it was the first fight I had with you. I’m pretty sure you’d still remember it.

I think I’m scared…that I might destroy such wonderful future I’ve seen with my own eyes. That future I’ve seen with you in it, I want that. I want to be with you, creating a family together. I don’t know if I’d be a good mother, or if I could do anything at all. But… I want that future. I want you… in the future that we are moving towards…

I love you… More than anyone and anything in the world. I don’t want to lose you… I want to be able to experience that future, the one where you and I are together, the one where I could hold Zack in my arms…

I’ll do my best… I’ll do everything to see that future with you… Wait for me, okay?

I love you, Cloud…

big plan.

The usually cheerful boy was pacing, walking back and forth within his own room, mouth muttering something over and over again. He was restless. The nervousness showed in his expression and the way he took each step. Back and forth, back and forth.

Tomorrow is the day. He kept reminding himself. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the day she had entered his life and brought such hope and light into his existence.

His azure gaze drifted from the floor he had been staring to the mechanical dolls he created just for this special occasion. He had been planning this for almost a month, consulting with the former president of Student Council. He was certain this is what he wants. She was the most important treasure to him. And he wanted to protect her for the rest of his life.

Brilliant ocean blue orbs peered away from his own invention as he took out a small box from his pocket. Shakily opening it, inside revealed two silver rings sitting next to each other. It was only a simple design. He wasn’t one of those fancy guy that could pick out such complicated-design accessory. He could only pick out something this simple…

But.. their love was simple. Love itself was simple. There was nothing complicated. His feelings for her were simple. He loves her, so so much. That was the only thing he knew. He would never want anyone else. Only her. She is his angel.

Exhaling out nervously, he glanced at the clock. Almost midnight. Almost time his plan was about to begin. He took in deep breaths, steadying himself. He couldn’t mess this up. He wouldn’t mess it up.

And with another puff of air released to bring himself confident, he walked out the room with the dolls in his hand. He was ready.

He could only hope she would say yes.

the red string of fate.

“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break.”

—————

The bright blue eyes stared down at his hand, keeping his gaze locked on his pinky. Purple head tilted to the side, the words and sentences resounded within his mind. The boy blinked. He had heard those phrases countless of time before. And he wondered, was it real or just a myth?

How can two people be connected by such fragile thin thread? The small, easily-broken red thread. And if it was invisible, if it was unable to be seen by the eyes, how can one knows it’s real and it does exist? How can one knows it wouldn’t break?

Everything breaks. And he was always alone. He shielded himself from loneliness. He despises it. So much that he would cut the bond before it was formed. He would close his eyes, trying to imprint the wonderful memories within his mind. Because, no matter how long, or how beautiful the moment is, it always fades away. He learned that many times before. Until he was scared. He was afraid even to reach out for the hand that offered to him. He didn’t want to face that kind of loneliness again.

But…it all changed…the moment he met her. She was warm, kind, and gentle. She always looked out for him, looking after him. He could see the happiness in her eyes, the way her lips curved up into a smile at the sight of him. She smiled when he was happy, and cried when he was sad. She felt everything for him. And only for him.

The azure orbs dropped down to his hand once again, but now, he saw the faint shade of red starting to appear. The red line wrapping around his fingers, treading across the floor and into the light shining from in front of him. The red string slowly pulled up, and he slowly lifted his head. A hand was offered to him. A small, delicate hand of someone. And on her pinky, there was a thin red thread encircled the slender finger. He had been looking for her all this time. Praying and wondering if she was real. Yet, despite everything, she appeared in front of him.

…regardless of time, place, or circumstances…

He wasn’t supposed to exist in her world, but she found him. The lonely boy who was left alone in the corner. A boy who was afraid of loneliness. She had found him, regardless of their worlds. The reality that divided them apart… Somehow… Some way…

She had found him.

“Let’s go, Tsubasa!”

His hand reached out, and the light blinded his vision. However, he was no longer afraid. The warmth in his hand was real. The feel of small thread against his skin was also real. He had found the one on the other end of this string of Fate. His soulmate. His light.

His Angel…

And he knew…he would never be alone again. He knew… she would never let him go. And he would never let go of her hand.

Never.

“I love you, Enjeru.”

word prompt - machiavellian

Finger tapping against the dark handle, the silver-haired man’s expression was something that could not be described. Long, silvery fabric draped itself from the hanging skull all the way down to shield the pale face from any sight, following the gravity of the Planet that pulled beautiful fine hair downward as the head lifted up, glowing emerald orbs as cold as ice.

No emotions, no mercy. Grasp of power. Absolute authority. Ruthless ruling.

Gloved palm tightened around the grip of the long sword, sanguine liquid clung to the sharp metal as it reflected the brimmed light of evening sunset. A free hand came up, black leather wiped across the curve of a perfect face, brushing away the crimson mess spattered over the almost colorless skin.

Malevolent jade glanced down, heartlessly taking in the vision of countless bodies lying on the ground, rid any sign of life, piling up like worn-out books one discarded without care.

He simply felt nothing. Absolutely nothing at all as emerald orbs scanned the area for any survival. There was none, as to be expected from the General of ShinRa, the title he once claimed to be and the finest SOLDIER of all. That past was long gone, along with the sanity of his mind as the last fraction of mercy he held for this Planet. All that was left is his utterly grievance to every essence of this World. He loathed everything in sights, truly every.single.fragment.of.it.

He will kill the last of them if he needed to. He needed no partner nor help from anyone alive. This was all his doing and the desire that dwelled deep inside the organ within his left chest. He has no feelings, no care for anything of this World. He just wanted to claim what is rightfully his. What once and always belonged to him.

And his Mother.

No matter the lives that must be taken, no matter the suffocating and tortured cries that would fill the silence of this existence. He would do anything to take back those belonged to him, and he would stop at nothing to achieve the absolute control over this Planet.

Such was the meaning of his existence, it was made clear once all meanings of his past were stripped off upon him stepping into Nibelheim.

A word prompt from Carp. Ohmygod.. This is so hard. The word itself was so complicated and I think I didn’t get the meaning of it right in this prompt. And I never attempted writing anything involving Sephiroth. But at least I tried. I’m sorry it sucks Carp ;w; B-But I did my best… -sobbing- Me and my lack of knowledge in writing and vocabulary. /goes to hide in the darkest corner

Anonymous sent: Prompt: Vince and Cloud discuss who's better for you. I will go down with this ship!!!!!!!!!

((I’ll have to admit that this is quite difficult for me, as I couldn’t see any of them arguing on that subject. But I did my best and this is how it turned out. But it was fun and very interesting to write x3 Thank you for the prompt!

I struggled a bit on the ending as well, but I hope it’s okay and that you’ll like it :3 ))

The room was silent as the two heroes sat across from each other, watching the piece of paper with a query posed at both of them. The girl in question only sat quietly, brown eyes darting back and forth between the two males.

Cerulean orbs met with glowing crimson one and the uncomfortable silence ensued. The gunner remained unmoving as the swordsman shifted his weight slightly. Another small pause and the silence was broken by the sounds of deep voice ranging in unison.

“You’re better off with Cloud/Vincent is better than me.”

The two contrast color gazes widened for a split moment at the said word. The absence of sound was back before long, causing the girl to perch on her seat, quiet sigh escaped her lungs. Senses of discomfort multiplied.

“I don’t deserve such feelings.” The raven-haired man began, eyes shifting from the floor towards his companion sitting across from him. “I’m merely an existence of destruction.”

“But you’re more determined than I am.” The blonde argued in a firm voice, not lifting his gaze away from the dark wood beneath their feet. “You always know what to do. As for me, I’m not fitting to protect anyone.”

“You saved the world.”

“So did you.”

“You are aware I have Chaos and other beasts within me, right?”

“I allowed myself to be manipulated by Sephiroth. I’m not strong enough.”

“That’s in the past.”

“You can control Chaos now.”

“Cloud.”

“Shut up.”

“Okay, that’s enough!” Female voice cut through suddenly, interrupting the discussion -or rather argument-between the two friends, drawing both attention towards the owner of the voice. The girl was standing, her feet planted firmly on the floor as her eyes glowed with apparent anger, hands at her sides and clenching just slightly. She spared a sharp glance at the usual silent gunner first, then shot another one to the reserved blonde swordsman.

“You both are wonderful in your own ways, stop arguing or I’ll seriously throw something right about now.” She said, her eyes looked at both of them as her emotions slowly cooled down a bit. “I won’t compare the two of you. You can’t compare a person to another anyway, that’s just unacceptable.” She took a pause, breathing calmly. “Two of you are equally great, okay? No argument on that.”

“However…/But…”

“End of discussion.” She said sharply, staring them down. This might be the first time she was brave enough to act in such way in front of the two. “I’m sorry, Vincent. But I’ll take this Chocobo-head back now. Sorry for all the trouble.” She informed the raven-haired man and ended with an apology, only to receive an understanding nod from him. Crossing her arms, she then turned towards the blonde, her gaze softened considerably.

“I don’t care if there’re any guys better than you out there. I told you I love you. You’re my everything. The reason I existed. I’d love you regardless of the reasons, Cloud. Nothing is going to change that. It has to be you and only you.” Her voice was warm and gentle, conveying her feelings directly to him. There was a moment of silence before the swordsman nodded his head, and a smile broke free on the girl’s lips.

No matter what, you’re the only one for me, Cloud.

My hero…

—————

(( Yes, I don’t think either of them will think of themselves as ‘better’ than another considering their personalities.. = u = So this is what I’ve got.

And yup.. you all saw that ending coming. For me, it has to be Cloud. No questions asked.))

doushio sent: you and cloud; you drink beer together and he gets drunk and has the hiccup. and then he gets horny ofc. that wud be nice yea.

((asdfghjkjhgfdsdf LOL IAN WHAT SCENARIO IS THIS!? And I don’t drink… so… I’ll change it a bit.. I don’t even know if this is considered a waifu post but pfffft I tried..))

She was sitting in front of him, watching the blonde hero swallowing down the liquor glass after glass. He told her he had got that expensive bottle of liquor from Cid, and that it would be a waste if he didn’t try it given the fact that she doesn’t drink. And here he was, enjoying it quietly as she just sit here, observing him.

“…Don’t you think you had a little too much to drink now, Cloud?” She warned in a soft voice, her eyes grew wary as the strong hand bottom up another glass. His cerulean eyes turned to her, waving his hand a bit as a quite deny left his lips. However, she wasn’t so convinced given the redness spreading across his face by now.

As he poured the liquor into a glass once more, her hand reached for the bottle and sealed it with a cork. Azure gaze turned to her immediately, slight confusion was apparent. “That’s last glass for you, hero. You had enough for today.” She exhaled a long sigh, getting up to her feet and walked past him to put the bottle away. She could swear she heard a soft chuckle rang through the air as she made her way to the kitchen.

Her hazel orbs stared at the label of the bottle, her head tilted slightly. Why does men love this kind of stuff? She would never understand it since she never finds the idea of drinking so appealing. And she wasn’t interested to even try. Alcohol and her didn’t blend well together.

Strong arms wrapping around her waist from behind caused her to let out a small squeak in surprise. Quickly putting away the bottle, she turned around to find stunning blue eyes staring at her so close. There was an unusual dark hint within the depth of those navy orbs, and she had to gulp slightly. She got a bad feeling about this…

“Liolf…” He murmured to her ears, pressing his mouth along her neck and she had to flinch from the sudden contact.

”..Cloud..! You’re drunk…” She attempted to protest and pry his hands away from her body, but his grasp was too strong and he wouldn’t let go. It didn’t help that the gentle touch from his lips along her skin was taking her strength away. She let out another shaky breath when his mouth descended downwards, applying more pressure as faint red mark appeared upon her skin.

He wasn’t listening to her at all, and she only feel her power slipping away at each passing second. At this rate… she’d… Gritting her teeth and trying to regain her composure, her pupils darted around the room, spotting the large sword resting against the wall. She struggled to reach for it, but at least the hero wasn’t paying attention on what she was doing, so it was just a little easier. Once she could make a grab, her hand disassembled the complicated weapon (thank God she asked him how to do that sometime ago, so she could help him clean and keep it maintained.) Extracting the smallest blade of the sword, she turned back to face him before drawing a deep breath. Sorry, Cloud… She muttered in her mind and…

SMACK!

She hit the back of his head with the dull side of the blade and the blonde fell unconsciously to the floor. Blinking awkwardly, she put the blade back to its original place, making sure it sat at the same exact spot before turning back. Her hands landed on either side of her hips, head tilting slightly. Another puff of air was released from her lung loudly.

“This is the first and last time I’d allow you to drink this much.” She took a pause, pondering quietly. “…And I have to get Tifa to talk to Cid later…”

Now how am I going to drag you to bed?

prompt - the death of loved ones

There was red everywhere… The horrible sanguine color drawing out essence of life and creating a pool of blood upon the ground..

Her body was shaking… holding onto the strong form within her fragile arms, wrapping him with her warmth. The blonde hero was lying still, unmoving, exhausted. Right arm gripping loosely at the handle of large sword, he drew another ragged breath. Deep wounds were apparent on his body, signaling how gravely injured the person was, and his fate to come.

“…No.. This can’t be happening..” Quivering voice rang out from trembling pale lips. Clear droplets of water formed within her brown eyes as they fell down upon another’s face, trickling down the blood-stained curve. Her small hand grasped his tightly, almost painfully as if she could hold him back with her strength, preventing him from fading away right in front of her.

“No… Cloud.. please… don’t do this to me…” Her voice cracked gradually, tears began to cloud her vision as she could no longer think clearly. “Don’t leave me… You said you won’t die on me..! You said you wouldn’t leave me..! You promised to always be with me..! YOU PROMISED!” She almost screamed, continuing her futile attempt to cling to dimmed hope, praying for miracle to let him live. He fought for her, to protect her. And now he was on the edge of disappearing.

The corner of his lips slightly curved up into a sad smile. The azure gaze she loves so much was no longer seeing, his eyes were blank but she could sense that he was trying to look at her. His gloved hand raised, gentle fingertips barely touched her cheeks.

“But I promised… to protect you.. didn’t..I…?”

She felt fresh torrent of tears being unleashed from inside of her soul, her shuddering body desperately clung to him, teeth gritted painfully. Feeling warm water dripped against his face, the swordsman reached out once more, fingers brushed the overflowing tears away. She sobbed harder at the awareness of his hand growing colder, and his heartbeat slowing down greatly. Her palm enveloped his strong one, clasping on it tightly, weaving their fingers together as she looked at him through her tears-filled gaze.

“I love you…”

And his hand lost its strength, falling lifelessly within her grasp. Hazel orbs widened in horror, her heartbeat stopped, breathing halted, everything around her just faded out. Her hero, her love, her life, her everything….

He was gone.

“——————————————-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Heart-broken, excruciating shriek cut through the silence. She cried out again and again, letting all her feelings burst out as tormenting screams that would never stop.

He would never moved again. His cerulean eyes she loved dearly wouldn’t open and look at her anymore. His strong arms would no longer hold her when she was sad and depressed. The awareness that he was gone slowly sinking in, breaking her apart.

She had nothing to live for. Her life has no future, rid of any purpose to keep on living. She had no hope, no light. It’s all useless. This world is meaningless without him. Her existence is meaningless without him. She was nothing. Nothing at all.

“…I can’t live without you…. I can’t… Cloud… I…”

Before she knew it, her hand reached for his blade. The large sword that she could never able to lift up, right now she was able to hold it in her small hands. The loud, wild roar of a beast pierced the air, but she made no attempt to escape. Holding onto the sword and the hand of the one person who meant the most to her, brown eyes watched as blood-thirst beasts approached her. She had made her choice.

This world is meaningless without him. That’s why…

Come and get me. Put me out of my misery. If you take him away from me, you’ve already took my life with him. There’s no point living anymore. So…

Kill me…

“See you soon… Cloud,”

Squall,

This would be the first time, and maybe the last time I send a letter to you. Sorry if it’s a bother though. It took me years to finally gather up the courage to actually communicate with you.

Thank you…

That was the one word I always wanted to say to you. I can’t remember how I first knew you. But I do know it was so many years ago. Such a long, long time.

When I first saw you, I was struck by the scar on your face. I immediately wanted to know the history behind it, and behind the wound within your heart as well. I have to say, I fell in love with you the moment I laid eyes upon you, but I didn’t realize it at the time.

You were my first love. And I always wondered why you, of all people, could capture my heart. To be honest, you weren’t my type at all. You were so cold, blunt, totally not a social person or expressive person. You push everyone away, locking yourself within your own emotions and guilt. But I think… it’s because you resembled me so much, that’s why I could relate to you and my heart was calling out to you.

I’m always afraid of being alone. I couldn’t stand losing someone dear to me, I couldn’t bear the loss of having someone I hold dear to me disappear or leaving me again. I was betrayed by my love ones, and left there crying to myself. My heart all shattered and destroyed.

I lost trust in anyone. Everyone. They’re all the same.

After that, I wanted to be alone. Despite how much I hated the loneliness, for me at that time, it was better to be lonely, to be alone than experiencing that same pain again. I couldn’t stand it… and I wouldn’t..

You just remind me of myself so much… I couldn’t help but fall for you so deeply..

Until…. I met a certain someone..

Someone who resembled you.. in many ways.. He was also blunt, straight-forward, bore down by the guilt and sadness, letting it consumed him entirely. For the first time… I wanted to hug someone. I wanted to take away those burden or lessen them, even for a little… I just wanted to tell him he wasn’t alone.. And everything wasn’t his fault…

You were my first love, Squall… But he was the one…

It was the first time… I treasured someone more than myself..

Thank you for introducing me to this sensation.. Thank you for teaching me how to love, how it felt like to fall for someone so far from my grasp… Someone impossible for me…

I wouldn’t say I’m over you or anything, because you’ll always have a special place in my heart, Squall. No one can replace you, or take it away from me. A part of you will remain with me, in my name… You’ll always remain there as my first love… My first Final Fantasy hero…

Thank you…

HolyLeonheart

P.S. I do know it’s Leonhart. It’s just my way of tweaking it.

P.S.2. And in case you are curious, which I doubt that you’ll be, but I’ll say it anyway. That certain someone is a blonde, silent and reserved swordsman.

His name is Cloud Strife.

We live in different worlds… And we can’t be together… That was one fact I knew so well… yet…

Yet… why can’t I seem to let go…?

“I don’t exist in your world, and you don’t exist in mine…” I whispered out the words as the truth pierced my heart sharply. Yes, it was the truth. That’s why it pains me so much to admit it.

I fell in love with you, the first time I played that game, the first time you appeared on the screen. Yes… I fell in love with you, a character in a game. Even I knew it was such a stupid thing, but it was impossible to deny it. You had my heart since the first time I laid eyes upon you.

Countless times, I kept screaming your name. I kept confessing my feelings for you, hoping… praying… it would reach you one day… The hopeless wish of mine was to meet you. A wish that couldn’t be granted, yet… I continued to pray…

I want to meet you… I want to… so so much…

And…it was a miracle… that I am able to stand here, in front of you. To have you standing before me.

But… it didn’t change the fact that I don’t belong here… It didn’t change the fact that I don’t exist in this world… Your world…

That’s why… Please.. break it. Break the portal that links me to my world. Break the chains or any connections I have with my world. Make it so that I exist in this world. As if that world I came from doesn’t exist, never existed. That world…without you. That world…where you don’t exist…

Bound me to you… Chain me to you… I exist..solely for you. I was born.. to be yours…

That’s why… please…

Erase my past… Free me from this link… I don’t want to go back… that world without you…I don’t want to go back there…

With your hands… make it so that I belong here, in your world, the world where you exist…

Please… Cloud…

“Could you teach me how to fight?”

“No.”

Your answer were abrupt, sharp, almost instinctive. I opened my mouth to protest, and once again was silenced by your words. I gave it another try, but I was no match for you when it comes to an argument like this. Finally, all I see now is the image of your broad back, with you completely silent before me.

Why? I want to be able to protect myself… I don’t want to be a burden to you…

In my own world, I was always standing up for myself. I could take care of myself, or even defend my friends… But now… now that I’m in your world… surrounded by entirely different atmosphere and people… I feel so weak…

So powerless…

I couldn’t do anything… I couldn’t even look after myself or protect myself from anyone or anything… I hate it… I hate this… The feelings of being so useless…unable to do a thing…

My hands trembled and slowly clenched together into fists at the thought. I just wanted to become stronger… strong enough to at least protect myself… To not make you worry… or letting you down… So that you won’t be ashamed…or judged by others for being with me…

I just… wanted to be able to stand next to you as an equal… Not a burden…

I just… wanted to be worthy of you… Cloud…
